The concept is a success: a genuine Polaroid, classic square image format, and all that packed into an unrivaled small size. The Polaroid Go has secured its own niche in the instant camera market. And because the camera is enjoying growing popularity, it is now available in two new colors and optional color filters.

Color filters for creatives
Color filters are now a standard accessory on many instant cameras. They give the photo a completely different mood and allow a lot of scope for creatives. However, manufacturers use different approaches. Filters that are attached above the lens are common, for example with the Polaroid Now Plus. The Instax SQ6, on the other hand, relies on flash filters that, as the name suggests, are attached above the flash and immerse the scene in colored light.

One big filter
The Go goes its own way here, because the filters are attached across the entire width of the camera and cover the flash, lens and viewfinder (there is only a small recess for the light sensors under the flash). This is especially practical because you can already get an impression of the later photo through the optical viewfinder. This saves wasted photos and thus cash. The filters come in red, blue and orange. In our practical test, the principle is pleasantly intuitive. Put the filter on, check the subject, pull the trigger. The orange filter, for example, immerses the scene in a sepia tone, making the photo look like it’s from another era.
About the Go
The Go is the latest model from Polaroid and probably the smallest instant camera in the world. Despite its extremely compact dimensions, the camera has the popular 1:1 image format of a classic Polaroid. Only the dimensions of the photos are about three inches smaller, at 1.8 x 1.8 inches (visible image). The flash can be deactivated, the viewfinder doubles as a selfie mirror and the double exposure mode allows exciting experiments when taking pictures.
